Uruguay vs Ecuador Prediction & Betting Tip

Uruguay vs Ecuador predictions for Thursday night’s South American World Cup qualifying tie. Uruguay hope to go top of their World Cup qualifying group with a win on Thursday.

Uruguay vs Ecuador
When: 10th November, 23:00
Where: Estadio Centenario
Prediction: Uruguay Over 1.5 Team Goals at 5/6 with bet365
Correct Score Prediction: Uruguay to Win 3-0 at 11/1 with bet365

Uruguay managed to improve on their recent poor away form last time out when they clinched a point in Colombia, only failing to get the win thanks to a late equaliser. This draw made it four wins, two draws, and one defeat from their last six qualifying matches.

Their dismal Copa America campaign is certainly not forgiven nor forgotten though, with them going out at the group stages shockingly after losing their opening two matches. Since then they have lost to Argentina, beaten Paraguay and Venezuela, and drawn against Colombia.

This has taken them to 2nd in the World Cup qualification table, just a point behind Brazil and four points inside the automatic qualification spots. With Uruguay’s home form being so good at the moment they will definitely feel they can add to their tally on Thursday. They have won their last seven home matches, scoring a huge 22 goals and conceding just twice.

Luis Suarez is obviously the main threat for the hosts. The Barcelona forward has scored 47 international goals and netted in their 2-2 draw with Colombia last month. He has scored ten goals in his 14 club starts this season and provided five assists as well, so he’s definitely the best bet for an anytime goalscorer backing.

Ecuador could only manage a point in Bolivia in their last outing, a result which puts them in a decent 3rd position in the group, although they are four points off the leaders at this stage.

However, they have since lost key player Antonio Valencia to a broken arm, and away from home their form leaves a lot to be desired. They have lost three of their last four on the road and have only won two of their last nine.

This makes Uruguay strong favourites for this tie. They have scored over three goals per game in their last seven home matches and have only failed to score more than one goal in one of their last nine home matches. Chile have conceded two or more in five of their last ten away days as well, so backing Uruguay Over 1.5 Team Goals at 5/6 looks a very good option. I’m going for a 3-0 win for Uruguay at 11/1 as well.

Uruguay and Ecuador have each won two, drawn three, and lost two of their last seven meetings with one another.

Uruguay have scored two or more goals in 78% of their last nine home matches.

Top scorer and talisman Luis Suarez will hope to add t his 47 international goals, whilst the likes of Fernando Muslera, Diego Godin, and Matias Vecino are all in the squad as well. Abel Hernandez is likely to miss out after picking up an injury at the weekend, whilst Edinson Cavani is also a doubt after limping off in PSG’s win over Rennes.
Antonio Valencia will miss out with a broken arm, but Swansea’s Jefferson Montero is in the squad. Top scorer Felipe Caicedo, Enner Valencia and Juan Carlos Paredes are other notable European based names, with the majority of the other players being based in South America.

Prediction: Uruguay Over 1.5 Team Goals at 5/6 with bet365
Correct Score Prediction: Uruguay to Win 3-0 at 11/1 with bet365
