Sampdoria vs Inter Milan Prediction & Betting Tip

Inter Milan have had a poor season, but can they move up the Serie A table with a win away to Sassuolo on Sunday night?

Sampdoria vs Inter Milan
When: 30.10.2016, 19:45
Where: Stadio Comunale Luigi Ferraris
Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals & BTTS at 11/10 with bet365
Correct Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw at 12/1 with bet365

Inter claimed a midweek win against Torino, but is that a turning point in their season? They’ve been a mess since the summer sacking of Roberto Mancini, after allowing him basically a full preseason before going in a different direction. Despite only appointing Frank De Boer in August, there’s already talk that he’s on the verge of the sack too.

The Dutchman always said it was going to take time to get his team up to speed this season. It doesn’t seem like the club is ready to give him time. The former Ajax boss probably wouldn’t have been here if it wasn’t for that Torino result. That win came as a result of an error by Joe Hart more than anything else. Things don’t look promising for their manager, even after less than three months. A bad result here could cost him his job and, unfortunately, he can’t seem to get a decent performance out of his team.

Meanwhile, Sampdoria are starting to show signs of recovery. They were hammered by Juventus in midweek, but they did get on the score-sheet. They had won a derby clash with Genoa and claimed two draws before travelling to Turin. While they’re scoring goals regularly now, their 4-1 defeat highlighted their main problem, their defensive weaknesses.

That’s not great ahead of a meeting with in form Mauro Icardi, who has eight goals in 10 league games. His off the field troubles don’t seem to be bothering him in the slightest. The forward struck twice in midweek, and he’s scored five in his last six against Sampdoria. He looks like great value to continue his strong form this weekend and he’s priced at 21/20 to score any time with bet365.

Sampdoria have yet to keep a home clean sheet this season, while they’ve conceded in their last nine Serie A matches. Inter have a defence to match that, keeping just one clean sheet all season long. Inter have conceded and scored 13 so far this term, while they’ve let in 1.4 a game on the road. That’s a worrying stat, especially when Sampdoria have scored in 80% of their games.

All of Inter’s last four games have seen over 2.5 goals, and it’s easy to see why. They’ve got Icardi up front providing goals, but they simply can’t keep clean sheets. So far this term, 80% of Inter’s games have seen both teams score. Sampdoria are almost as bad, with 75% of their matches seeing both teams find the net. With that in mind, we’re backing both teams to score and over 2.5 goals in this one, which is 11/10 with bet365.

Inter have won three of the last five here, but their last win at Sampdoria came in 2014. Their last meeting here came in October last year, which finished in a 1-1 draw.

Inter have conceded a goal which gave their opponent the lead 10 times in their 10 league games so far. These two have conceded in 90% of the matches they’ve played this season.

Goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano is missing for Sampdoria, as are defenders Dodo and Daniel Pavlovic. Attacking midfielder Carlos Carbonero is also unavailable here.
Gary Medel continues to be suspended for Inter, while Ionut Radu, Jonathan Biabany and Felipe Melo are also out of this clash.

Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals & BTTS at 11/10 with bet365
Correct Score Prediction: 2-2 Draw at 12/1 with bet365
