The top two in Group E go head to head again this week, but will we see any repeat of their 3-3 draw in Rome? These two had a brilliant first encounter, but they could both do with a victory here to consolidate their place in the last 32.

Roma had been expected to win this group, but slipping up at home to the Austrian side has made things difficult for them. This game is now a battle for top spot, with Austria Wien in a fantastic position. If they can claim a home win, they’d be on course to finish top. They could make things even tougher for the Serie A side, don’t go backing the away win at odds on just yet.

These two have struggled to really dominate so far. They’ve both won against Astra, but they’ve drawn every game aside from that. This group has been more challenging for Roma than you would have imagined. Could it get even worse with a negative result in Vienna this week? There’s a case to make for the hosts, they’ve not lost any of their last seven games.

Austria Wien also haven’t lost any of their last six Europa League games, which they maintained with a late comeback in Rome. Having been 3-1 down with eight minutes to play, they scored twice late on to level the game. That took quite a bit of spirit, plus they were helped by Roma’s injuries woes at the back. That made things pretty difficult for Luciano Spalletti’s team.

Roma are still struggling with selection issues, and they’ve had a bit of a wobble of late. Their latest setback came at the weekend, as they drew 0-0 with a struggling Empoli side. That saw them slip to four points off Juventus, having previously threatened a title challenge. That draw away to the team in 18th place in Serie A shows their problems on the road. Could they have another tough time away from home here?

The Italians have just two away wins this term in all competitions. None of those victories have been in European games. Roma have recorded 65% of their points and goals in Serie A this season at home, while 67% of their goals have been conceded on their travels.

Austria Wien can boast three straight league wins to nil ahead of this game, while Roma head here missing four defenders and Francesco Totti. While the visitors are heavy favourites, their issues with injuries and their poor away record are putting us off backing them. We’re backing the hosts to take something out of this game. They showed that they can trouble Roma during their last meeting, and they should be able to follow that up with a strong showing at home. Austria Wien or draw double chance is our tip, which is priced at 11/8 with bet365.

First time these two sides met was the 3-3 draw they played out recently.

Austria Wien have a very strong home record, winning 71% of their games at home this term. Roma have won just 25% of their away games in all competitions.

Austria Wien are missing goalkeeper Robert Almer, defnder Richard Windbichler. plus David de Paula and Ronivaldo.
Roma have quite a few injury worries here. Francesco Totti is out, while defenders Moustapha Seck, Mario Rui, Abdullahi Nura and Thomas Vermaelen miss out. Alessandro Florenzi is also unavailable for this trip.

Prediction: FK Austria Vienna or Draw at 6/5 with bet365
Correct Score Prediction: FK Austria Vienna to Win 2-1 at 14/1 with bet365
